Reishi is a mushroom that has been used for thousands of years in the folk medicine or traditional medicine of China and Japan. In China, this mushroom is called as “Ling Zhi” and its scientific name is Ganoderma lucidum. In China and other regions of Asia, Reishi is used for Bronchitis, Coronary Heart Disease (CHD), High Blood Pressure (Hypertension), Hepatitis, Cancer, Nervous Weakness, etc. The Japanese government has officially recognized Reishi as an adjunct herb for treating cancer. Reishi has also been reported to have anti-HIV activity.
