Feverfew (Tanacetum parthenium) is a medicinal plant used in the traditional medicine. According to the anecdotal literature, Feverfew (Tanacetum parthenium) has been most often used as a prophylactic (preventive) remedy for migraine headaches. The name “Feverfew” has its origin in the Latin word “febrifugia” which means fever reducer. Feverfew has been used in the folk medicine as an herbal remedy for fever, rheumatoid arthritis, and migraine. According to the modern medicine, Feverfew has been reported to have beneficial effects in the prevention of migraine headaches. It has also been reported to have anti-inflammatory, analgesic, and antipyretic effects. Some evidence suggests that Feverfew might be useful in the treatment of rheumatoid arthritis.
