Pyrogen is a nosode (see, what is a nosode?), which is employed in homeopathy in the treatment of septic states. Pyrogen, also known as Pyrogenium, is used in the treatment of the following medical conditions, viz. –
Septicemia, septic fevers, surgical septicemia, sapremia, puerperal septicemia, septic fever following abortion or miscarriage, highly offensive menstrual discharge, horribly offensive lochia (see, what is lochia?), hectic fever, ptomaine poisoning, sewer gas poisoning, typhus, typhoid, diphtheria, horribly offensive diarrhea and/or vomit, obstinate constipation resulting from impaction of feces in fevers, carrion-like stool, dissecting wounds, offensive ulcers, etc.
